In-store animated installations and live motion capture booth at the Puma flagship store for the League of Legends World Championship 2022, in partnership with Gen-G E-sports.
The pipeline for the live booth consisted of Kinect-based motion capture and retargeting inside of Unreal Engine 5. The booth allowed event visitors to embody and pilot avatars corresponding to each of the Gen-G team members. Patrons were able to record dances and play with custom reactive particle effects corresponding to player movement. Custom shaders and post processing were developed by myself and Daniel Mangosing in order to capture the illustrative qualities of Turtleboat’s key art and designs.
The display animations of the Tiger were hand-keyed in Blender, and rendered in Octane.
